Incorporated as a city in 1991, Lake Forest is a master planned community with over 78,000 residents and is currently the most densely populated city in South Orange County. It has also expanded its borders to include the communities of Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills since being incorporated. The city has two man-made lakes and tall beautiful trees which line the streets between Ridge Route, Jeronimo, Lake Forest Road and Serrano Road similar to a forest from which it gets its full name. Along with 20 public parks, Lake Forest is also home to two county parks, “Whiting Ranch Regional Wilderness Park” and “Heritage Hill Historical Park”. Within the city limits, residents and visitors can enjoy tennis, handball, basketball and volleyball courts, golf, hiking, biking, and equestrian, boating and swimming.
